Multimedia software and the Internet has revolutionized language
learning and by using some of the excellent services available we can
now have real-time conversations
What about chatting on Skype?
There is a Skype room for forum members. Login or if
you don't have a Skype account you'll need to download it and follow the
instructions online (it's free).
The idea is that forum members will be able meet up with
each other to chat and eventually exchange contact details, maybe even
set up chat rooms themselves where they can practise spoken English
together in a relaxed and informal way.
How do you access the room?
Members of the forum can apply via Yuku Send me a contact request
in Yuku, then when I have accepted your request PM (private message) me
your Skype id on the forum, I will then send you a contact request via
Skype and once you have replied to it I will be able to add you to the
room.
When is the room open?
The room is available 24/7, but I am not. I
usually moderate the Meet Up 4 ESL room on Tuesdays and Thursdays (see
the calendar on the forum),
I try to be in the room for at least two hours per week.
I can't promise I will always be there on the same day or at the same time, but I do try.
Live English Chat
As a member of the forum you can text chat to each other at any time using the Forum's Live Chat room. This is a great way to get to know other members.
You will need to install Java on your computer.
Click here to log on and enter the chat room - I agree with the terms.
If no one is in the Live English Chat room, why not try the Live Chat page?
